Bloc’s 50 over 50 awarded to North End Teleservices head of security

OMAHA, NEBRASKA, USA, December 12, 2023 /The Bloc’s 50 over 50 Award has been given to North End Teleservices, LLC (NET) head of security, Barbara Robinson. Robinson came to North End Teleservices as a part-time call center agent. Early in her time with North End Teleservices, she expressed her desire to lead NET’s Security team. North End Teleservices created a career pathway for Robinson to achieve this goal including all the necessary training from the best industry security leaders.

Safety and working to reduce gun violence have long been passions of Robinson who personally overcame many challenges to arrive at the level of success she has today. She has dedicated her life to supporting her community. Robinson previously worked on the former Mayor’s Gun Task Force Advisory to help curb the use of guns in the North Omaha community.

“It’s wonderful to see how she has grown, stepped into what she wanted to do, and embraced it. It started with Barb having a dream and vision for herself and her life,” says Carmen Tapio, CEO of North End Teleservices, LLC

“Having someone who can connect with employees and make them feel comfortable and protected is invaluable. Barb's unique ability to meet employees where they are contributes to our culture as well as employee morale. It's important to recognize and appreciate individuals like her who play a crucial role in fostering positive workplace environments,” says Keisha Thomas, Vice President of HR, Community and Employee Relations at North End Teleservices.

As a certified grief counselor, she has also worked with mothers whose children were victims of gun and gang violence. Robinson says many of the mothers were young and did not know how to plan a funeral. She created a safe shoulder to lean on to help meet the needs of these families while advocating for their needs. She also worked to provide monetary resources for families affected by gun and gang violence.

Robinson spearheaded the Game Changers Program as another effort to eliminate gang violence in North Omaha. Her empathetic and genuine nature, and gift for relationship-building allowed her to establish relationships with even gang leaders in the community that laid the groundwork for mediation.

Robinson is also the founder of Robinson’s Family Advocacy Center (also known as The Family Center). The Family Center’s mission is to decrease the rate of recidivism in the foster care system. This center works with families whose children are in foster care, whose goal is reunifying with their children by supporting parents’ healing journey and providing support as parents work through issues that caused separation.

“God put people in my life that mentor me and guide me and in turn, I do the same. It just shows me that life is full of chances, trials, messes, and messages,” says Robinson as she reflects on her life and this achievement.

Robinson’s professional contributions also carry a significant impact. As the Corporate Security Team Lead, she is certified in mediation, FEMA, and Emergency Management. Robinson has established NIST Security policies and procedures at North End Teleservices creating an atmosphere of safety, trust, and compassion. She is a trusted colleague who is valued for not only her professional expertise but her down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach to problem-solving.

“You just have to go for it. As a young kid and a teenager when I started using drugs, I never thought there would be life after that. I never thought that I would have a day of clarity, and now look! I am heading up a Security Team. I am helping mothers who are hopeless and I’m letting people know, if it can be done for me, it can be done for them.”
