Statement on Local and National Events

We start this week with heaviness and sorrow.

We at North End condemn racism and inequality of any kind.  We are saddened, mourning and sometimes overwhelmed and confused.  But we are not deterred in any way in our effort to be a part of bringing about change and equality for ALL people.

We encourage you to find your voice and use it to express yourself during this time.  We encourage you to check on your work friends and make sure that they are okay. Reach out to each other, rely on one another, your family and your friends - now more than ever.

While anger can be the catalyst necessary to create change, it will only create more barriers if used in the wrong way. When we feel anger, let us remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The supreme task is to organize and unite people so that their anger becomes a transforming force.”

He also said, “Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.”

Let us channel our anger and confusion into acts of love, excellence and support within our community.

Please obey the curfew. Please protest peacefully. Be in solidarity with one another and most of all, stay safe.
