In February 2015, I engaged with the Omaha Economic Development Corporation (OEDC) to assist them in developing a plan to create jobs in Northeast Omaha allowing people to work where they live. We would not exist without the commitment to community revitalization and investment made in us by OEDC. Contact centers as their own eco-system and pathway for career advancement made a lot of sense as a way to create jobs. North End Teleservices is the outcome of that plan and I became sole owner of the company in October 2018.
Today we are the largest African American Woman Owned Business in the state of Nebraska.
I started in a call center when I was 18 years old and working in the industry literally took me around the world. I want everyone who works here to know they can accomplish anything and everything they set their mind to.
The North End dream to create good paying jobs and help reduce unemployment in a blighted area of our city has expanded to holistic care for our employees. Our dream has transformed into care for one another as a family would care for each other. Our dream is to be an example of how diversity, equity and inclusion can not only be a driver of performance and innovation but also how it can be transformative in the lives of our people, the community and our state. Our dream is success in business for the greater good.
Our dream remains that every person that comes through our doors is better off having done so by being set on a path to fulfill a dream of their own. We do this through providing benefits, apprenticeships, upskilling, cross-training, life navigation services and by promoting from within.
